Revenge Plot Gets Derailed
Testimony of Nancy Villamizar
I have lived in Colombia on the Venezuelan border next to the Soy Satura house for three years.
Almost a year ago, I had a major problem with someone in my neighborhood, involving my family in a delicate situation. Filled with fury, I searched for the illegal armed group that controls my neighborhood. I was about to make a big mistake, asking those men to seal the fate of my enemy.
While out searching, I crossed paths with my neighbor, Ángela Sánchez, one of the Soy Satura workers who was baptized last October. I told her what was going on and what I planned to do. She gently encouraged me to put everything in God’s hands. She then shared Jesus with me in a special way and asked if she could pray for me and my family. I told her, “Of course!”
From that moment, I felt inner peace like never before. I began learning about the Lord through the Scriptures ... and I never carried out my revenge plot. I also began volunteering with the Soy Satura ministry. I helped Ángela distribute the soy snacks, and we began making the “soup of love” on Sundays to provide Venezuelan families with at least one full meal.
All aspects of my life changed, starting with my character and my actions. I had been an impulsive woman, often allowing others to trample on me. Now, I realize my worth through Christ. He gave my life meaning. Now, I know that God is the most important in my life; he is the first above everything! My family and I have learned how to pray, to have faith, and to trust only in him.
Today, I can say that I was spiritually born again on that day with Ángela. In October, my family and I planted a small group church in our house where, together, we pray, praise the Lord, and learn from his Word. Several neighbors attend, eager to learn from the Word of God.
My life and my family members’ lives are blessed now, thanks to the work of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the ministry of Soy Satura. Without both, I would not have met Mrs. Ángela, who shared God’s Word with me.
