Reclaiming Haiti for Jesus
Reclaiming Haiti for Jesus
On November 3, 2019, nearly 2,000 Christians from 24 churches in northern Haiti marched to Bois-Caiman, a site dedicated to the devil in 1804, and today, an area rampant with Voodoo practice. They marched the three miles, singing and praying as they went, led by Pastor Lucner, dean of advancement at Emmaus University, to reclaim the area for Jesus.
Many Christians warned Pastor Lucner not to do this, saying it was too dangerous. But Lucner knew God had told him to do it. Many believers assured him of their participation, so they prayed and fasted for the two days prior to the event.
As the group marched, others joined them along the way. When they passed the road that led to the local cemetery, a man with a lot of Voodoo paraphernalia stood nearby. Someone talked to him, and he accepted Jesus as Savior and joined the march.
Pastor Lucner had sent five men ahead to the site to pray and observe the situation. They reported, “There are several people ready to attack anyone who comes.” Yet, no attacks occurred. They had also been warned that if a witch doctor approached to shake hands, Lucner would fall dead. Well, a witch doctor shook his hand several times … when nothing happened, the witchdoctor walked away.
Dr. Rodney, director of Bethesda Medical Center, directed the people to make a huge circle, several people in depth. They sang; shared God’s Word; prayed, casting out the evil spirits from the area, and then, 2,000 people shared the Lord’s Supper.
They renamed the site, Zion. “There is faith this morning in Vaudreil,” testified Pastor Lucner. “There is faith this morning in Haiti for everyone who used to think that certain places were for Satan, that certain people were for Satan, that certain things were for Satan, and therefore, to be feared are NO longer afraid, and they are claiming it ALL for Jesus.”
We praise God that several witch doctors in the area wanted to accept Jesus as Savior because of the defeat of the evil spirits. Many people who live in the area of the new Zion said they are thankful because the evil spirit who brought death has been cast out of the area. Pastor Lucner recently shared,“Faith is growing in the entire area. This event was the peak of my ministry to date.”
